A Greener Real Estate Industry!
In lieu of last night’s excitement, let’s talk about oscar for a second! This year has definitely been a great year for diversity and progressive political agendas. I am thrilled to see many more faces from around the globe, as well as more social awareness in the atomsphere. Because of the movie Blood Diamond, you can see a reduced quantity of diamonds being worn at the award shows. Also, big triumph for the green movement where An Inconvenient Truth won bost best song & best documentary.
As part of Staged4more‘s philosophy, we opt for to be more green as much as we can. It’s difficult to do so in the real estate industry since we kill a lot of trees constantly with

those California 100-page contracts and especially in staging industry where we are using lots and lots of furnishings and accessories that make a listing beautiful so it will sell quicker and for more money. A lot of time, it can become wasteful. After the furnishing are being rented out several times, it may fall apart or damaged while it was out on the road before it comes back to my warehouse and no longer “fit” to be displayed in staged homes.
The easiest way is to dump it in landfill, but it is better for the environment if we don’t. There are a few ways to “recycle” unwanted furnitures, as such:
- donate to goodwill or salvation army to get tax deductions. Salvation army will even make house calls to pick up.
- give it away to people who need them
- sell it to squeeze a little more equity out of your furniture
It is also natural to clean homes to make it more presentable to sell. Instead of using chemical cleaners, there are many eco-friendly products that will do the trick and don’t release harmful toxic in the process that can harm your body, your family’s bodies and the ozone. Here is one that we use and we help customers to purchase: Melaleuca: The Wellness Company. If you would like to try the product, feel free to let us know. We will help you set up your account. The others we love include Mrs. Meyer & 7th Generation.
