My $100 Dollar Quick Hotel Room Holiday Makeover Challenge
As part of my ASPM (Accredited Staging Professional MASTER) training with the Creator of Home Staging, Barb Schwarz, my Final was to make over part of my hotel room with $100 budget using the existing furnishing from the hotel. I had a great time shopping at Home Goods (my favorite stores hands down!). It was quite a rush to do everything in a short time frame and a small budget. It turned out to be quite difficult to shop when I was only allowed to use $100!
Here is the Before:

Here is the After:

It was very easy to do. At first I had trouble pinning down what I wanted to do, there were just too many choices at Home Goods! But then I picked the color red as my theme and gradually started pulling accessories that I liked. I pulled everything I thought would work into the cart then started to eliminate what I didn’t need or out of place. Eventually everything came together at the last minute when I found the red chess-piece-like piece to complete my look. I followed the Rule of 3 which created high, medium, and low with the 2 red vases & the centerpiece. I also didn’t waste anything, the ribbon from the packaging of the centerpiece became the napkin rings on the brown napkins, which were folded with the trick I learned previous night at dinner from our server. I opened the chairs on an angle on purpose to create an open and inviting feeling. The last touches were the red pillows that I borrowed from the hotel lobby. The varying shades of reds also added depth to the scene.
This is a pretty fun & simple redesign project.
Pretty easy, huh? How about you? Send me your pictures of your own $100 Makeover Challenge & I will feature you on my site!
Cheers,
Cindy
