Three and a half years ago we got stationed in the San Antonio, Texas area with the idea that we would retire. We found and bought a large, beautiful home in the country. Where we lived happily for about a year and a half. Then, the Army, offered to station us in the Chicago, Illinois area, which is where I'm from. So, knowing we would have to move with just six months notice, we said yes. Homes in our area took between 12 to 18 months to sell, so I quickly interviewed Realtors, who all mentioned the term "Staging". We had about the same square footage as comparable homes in our area, but they had more land, a pool or a finished deck. We needed an edge, so I decided to take a course and stage our home. Well, the home sold in 12 weeks, for a $75,000 profit over purchase price! And, the only advantage we had was staging. Staging helped sell my home and on a new career as a Staging Professional.
