Color Trends and Inspiration

Spotlight On:  Fiona Wallpaper  I love this website and wallpaper company, Fiona, which doubles as a play zone for people like us who like to experiment with different wallpapers in-situ to see how they could look in our home. This site is so brilliant, I love the locations – you can choose between Danish country or Danish city – and then different rooms in each location which give you a chance to play around a bit more.

Staging Industry

Tablescapes  Last month I mentioned in this post that Manvi was holding a tablescaping design camp at the Mitchel Gold + Bob Williams showroom in DC. Manvi gave us access to a bunch of photos that were snapped at the event. The results, both for formal and informal gatherings, are really beautiful and inspirational…especially for someone like me who has absolutely no clue how to decorate a table.

If You’re Going to San Francisco:  The Urban Nest  There’s a sweet little nest in my noe valley neighborhood. one part Parisian flea market, one part a haven for pampering yourself, the urban nest is one of my favorite little san francisco shopping secrets, but pssst…i’m gonna let you in on it.

A quick trip to the Farmer’s Market this weekend and I felt like I could indulge in all things earthy and natural.  The smells, the sounds, the colors, and mostly the community — it’s such a refreshing change from the everyday pace. 

Not only does lavender smell fantastic, the rich color is perfect for adding a romantic touch to your staged bedroom. 

Lovely Rainier Cherries — the colors are so versatile when thinking about home decor.  You can pull the red, the orange, or the peach to inspire any room in the house. 

If you don’t think a veggie as boring as a zucchini could inspire you, think again.  You can pull all kinds of fresh shades of green and yellow from this one source — a whole new meaning to the term greening your decor. 

Last but not least — the breads, oh the tons and tons of fresh bread.  So I’m cheating only slightly and found this beautiful picture on the Interwebs — but I promise — this is how good the bread looked.  It’s not difficult to find inspiration in these calming colors — I would love a home that reminded me of this delicious-ness all the time. 

Just goes to show — home staging inspiration can come from anywhere, I was just lucky to find it in the most unlikely place!
