Hey there!
Founder of Staged4more.
Today’s staged home tour features a unique upside down floor plan, a 12-sided “treehouse” overlooking a lovely lake. It is a 1,500 square feet, three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms home in Cottage Lake, Woodville, Washington, staged by Edi Keech, owner of Staging Puget Sound.
The entire home was gutted and remodeled by the investor. The upper floor of the home is the living space. The home also has one open area, and the home stager Keech was challenged to define all the spaces. The lower floor contains two baths and three bedrooms. Because of the home’s shape, a dodecagon, there are virtually no right angles with any of the permanent walls. Keech defined each area with furnishings, accessories and artwork shows the intended use for each space
The investor added freestanding cupboards as closets in each bedroom. The buyer had the choice of where to permanently locate these in each room. The favorite room of Keech is the Great Space. The odd shaped windows give a fairy tale aspect. The ceiling is patterned as 12 leaves projected from the central peak. An alternating painted and wood effect create a petal presentation above.
To ease the flow in the Great Space, Keech mirrored the paint and trim colors. This also created a neutral foreground, which directs the eye out to the tree and lake views. For this particular project, Keech chose the most popular style for the geographic region, Modern Craftsman.
The angles of the windows are reflected by the positioning of artwork, lamps and furniture. Rugs are placed asymmetrically. Keech chose to show as much flooring as possible, to reflect the similar wood in the ceiling petals.
Today’s property is staged by Edi Keech, owner of Staging Puget Sound, a home staging company that serves Seattle and South King County in Washington State.
